Gym Anxiety--Yes, it’s very much a real thing. It means to have a fear of working out because you are not fit enough or don’t feel confident enough with yourself. It is common with perfectionists or anyone who has spent the majority of their lives scrutinizing their bodies and how they believe that they are not good enough. This can often times turn into a vicious cycle. You don’t like the way you look, so you want to work out. But you don’t feel that you can work out around people, so you don’t go to the gym. You tell yourself, “I’ll work out at home, until I look better.” But what does look better mean? Until you lose 5 lbs? 10 lbs? 20?!? Also, how realistic is it for you to workout at ... Read the Post

Easter Basket Goodies
Still need ideas for Easter basket stuffers? I'm with you, Mommas! Although I picked up an Easter basket and bought one or two things, I haven't gotten all the goodies for Oliver's first Easter basket. Luckily, Amazon is a life saver and they have some super cute options for babies and kids. Plus, 2-day shipping from Amazon Prime is such a life-saver! I also plan on getting a few things from my local Nordstrom because they have such beautiful, high quality products for children. Here are my top 8: 1. Jellycat stuffed animals are one of my favorites! They are so soft and have the classic look that so many stuffed animals today are missing. I got mine from Nordstrom ... Read the Post
Friday Favorites
Here is a random combination of my favorite things from this week. I actually couldn't narrow it down to three things, so here are my top five favorites: 1. Forehead Tape Some of you may have seen my post on Instagram Stories. I got the idea from one of my favorite bloggers, Predominantly Paleo. She shared this a month or so ago and ever since then I've tried it and been hooked. Apparently, there's been this product called Frownies that has been around since 1889! But I use regular medical tape. I just put one smaller strip starting in between my eyebrows and then two strips across my forehead. We naturally frown and scrunch our faces in our sleep, and a lot of times these ... Read the Post
Self-Care Like You Mean It
By now over 80% of us who set New Year's resolutions have given up on them. Actually that happened by the second week of February, according to U.S. News. I share that statistic not to depress you, but to point out that maybe our typical resolutions are not realistic. Often times our resolutions are well meaning, but don't actually help us take care of ourselves. A lot of times we are investing in a new idea, but not in new mindset. What would it look like if we were to truly take on a new mindset? Not a rigid, inflexible one, like “I must go to the gym six days a week” or “I must not eat any carbs”, but "I will strive to do something for myself every day." Self care is something we tend to ... Acai Breakfast Bowl
I've been wanting to try acai bowls since they started getting trendy a few years ago. They look so fun and colorful! I haven't been able to find a restaurant that makes them locally, so I looked up how to make them and realized they are actually quite easy to make. Best part, they are very easy to customize with the toppings you want! I've never seen an actual acai fruit and after looking into them, apparently they only grow in warmer climates and are a primary product of brazil. I'm a Trader Joe's lover and found frozen acai packets there that are conveniently packed in single serving containers. You run the packet under water for about 30 seconds to break it up a little and then you ... Read the Post
My Quest for Safer Beauty
Several years ago I started eating paleo the majority of the time and I loved the positive effects it had on my body. My skin cleared up, I lost weight, my thyroid issues seemed to improve, and I felt great! I started following a lot of bloggers in the paleo community and realized that taking care of my body was not just something to do through food. Being clean is a lifestyle and what you put on your skin is just as important as what you put in your stomach. So I started testing out different clean make-ups and deodorants. The deodorants were easy, I immediately fell in love with the different brands and varieties available. But skincare and makeup was much harder. My Old Beauty ... Read the Post
