Happy Friday!!
I’ve decided to start a Friday Favorites series that will highlight my top 3 things from the past week. A heads up they will most likely be random and across a variety of categories because that’s just kind of how my life is these days.
1. These veggie muffins from Costco. They were being sampled last weekend and tasted surprisingly good! I immediately thought they would be a great food for Ollie to work on eating solids and get more veggies, and I was right. These are kind of like those veggie muffins you see on pinterest, except you don’t actually have to spend much time in your kitchen to make them. Nothing against doing that, but working full time/Mothering does not leave me much time for cooking during the week. Ingredients are different veggies, rice, eggs, and a few spices. Microwave them for 25 seconds and boom, easy veggies!
2. The Think Dirty App. Maybe I’m late to the game, but this app is making me seriously rethink some of the beauty products in my cabinet. The app was created by a woman who learned just how many carcinogens there are in cosmetic products, particularly those that contribute to breast cancer. Did you know the beauty industry is not regulated like the food and drug industries are? Did you also know that 80% of beauty products have never been tested for safety?! That’s quite disconcerting to me. So the Think Dirty, Shop Clean app, is an app that you can take with you to the store or scan the items you already have at home and see how clean their ingredients are. I’m finding that the current products I used are a mixed bag, but I was shocked to know that many brands I thought were high-quality actually use a lot of potentially harmful ingredients. I’m planning on going through my make-up and beauty products and swapping many of them out for some safer products. More on this to come in later posts.
3. The positive feedback I received from my post on Finding the Balance of Motherhood. Thank you to each and every one of you that too the time to read my post! I felt vulnerable posting such an intimate post so early into blogging, but the feedback I received was so encouraging. If you missed my post, you can read it right here: http://theblissfulmomma.com/2018/02/28/finding-balance-motherhood/
Have a good weekend!
