Mother’s Day is going to look a little different this year and I swear this quarantine better not end right before Father’s Day because that would just not be fair! One thing we know for sure, Mother’s Day is going to look a little big different this year and I wanted to share my favorite items in this gift guide. These are all items I own myself and find myself reaching for time and time again. Most of these items are from small businesses local to me because they need our support now more than ever (they ship across the country!), but I did include a few items from bigger stores that I just really love and think would make great gifts.
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I love Primally Pure-an amazing small business in California that makes the most effective natural skincare products I’ve found. Primally Pure is best known for their natural deodorants and you can read about my experience with the deoderents here. Primally Pure also makes wonderful skincare for your face and body. I always have a discount code for Primally Pure, use “THEBLISSFULMOMMA” to save 10% off of any of their products. My top three self-care items from them:
- Flower bath soak
- Plumping serum with rose quartz roller
- Jasmine body oil (does come in other scents
Clothing & Accessories
Alice & Wonder is a super cute boutique in Chicago that always curates the most fun and practical products. This Mama Sweatshirt is currently sold out, but I will post when it restocks. It’s currently en-route to me and I’ve heard it’s so soft! If you’re more of a t-shirt gal, they have a block print t-shirt option. They also have the CUTEST headbands, I can’t decide which one I like best! Plus these adorable mugs, I ordered this one. The greeting card options for Mother’s Day and they made me tear up; featured my top three below. Alice & Wonder happen to carry my favorite smelling Volcano candles too! If you haven’t tried these candles, you are missing out. Plus they look very aesthetically pleasing and make for great decor. All of my favorite picks are included in the collage below.
If you are a Mama or know a Mama that loves Chicago their Chicago gear is the cutest! I have the Windy City sweatshirt and love to wear it often. I also love the Chicago sweatshirt which can be found here.
Type League Press is another local Chicago shop that makes adorable mugs! My two current favorites:
I know every Mama is different on their sweet preferences (or if you even like them), but me personally, I’m a big fan of marshmallows. Especially the fancy gourmet kind that come in different flavors or with chocolate. I even had a marshmallow Advent Calendar last year! Where do I get the best marshmallows? A Chicago shop called XO Marshmallow. I met one of the owners at a blogger event and love the story behind this little shop. And their products are so good! They ship, so you can send them to Mom or yourself ( I won’t tell!); you can shop all of their products here. Here’s a little collage of some of their most delectable offerings. My personal favorite are the “Oh Dough You Didn’t Cookie Dough Cups”.
The Sugar Path
Marshmallows aren’t your fluff, The Sugar Path is a local bakery by me that ships cake jars and cookies. The cake jars are my favorite because it’s just like eating a slice of cake: it includes cake, frosting, and fillings in a variety of flavors including: salty caramel, vanilla, churro, coconut, and milk and cookies (one of my favorites!).
I have loved this dainty initial necklace since I got it in February and have received compliments and questions every time I wear it. It’s from a small Etsy shop I collaborated with in the past and love the variety of jewelry on their website. I also love that there are different price points with these necklaces, whether you’re on a budget shop here, or are looking for more of an investment piece, which can be found here.
A Few More Things…
Here is a collection of my favorite things from some bigger department stores, that I would recommend and love so much!
Ear Crawler Earrings-I have the version from a few years ago, but every time I wear them I get so many compliments. These are a fun pair to spice up a basic outfit or your next Zoom call.
Hair Dryer brush-This tool is the baby of a hair dryer and a round brush, it will save you so much time. It makes your hair look like you have a blowout every time.
Pajamas-The comfiest pair that I’ve been rocking ever since postpartum life
Fan clutch-Not that we have anywhere to go, but these bags are so pretty and cute! They come in two sizes and they fit more than you would expect. I have the small and it is a good sized bag, note that the large is truly quite large
Scarf-You can never go wrong with a cute scarf and this one comes in beautiful colors
Slippers-A super cozy, fluffy, and affordable pair
Makeup bag-perfect for spring with bright colors and a gingham print
I would also recommend any Yeti mug. They come in cute colors and most importantly keep your drink hot/cold for a long time. Here is a collage of my favorites.
Aaand I had to do one more Ollie throwback, wearing the cutest Mama onesie! I never quite understood what other Mother’s meant when they said a boy’s love for their Mama is quite unlike any other until I had this sweet boy.
So tell me, what is on your wishlist for Mother’s Day this year?
